Magnetic Engineering: Electromagnets

Ages 6-8
9 am- 3pm

Did you know that magnetism and electricity are close relatives? In fact, electricity can actually produce magnetism and magnetism can produce electricity! Some magnets run on electricity and these are called electromagnets. Early scientists experimented with these concepts and together we will replicate one of these experiments. Through charging a coil of wire, we will try to spin a magnet. We’ll test polarity and learn about invisible magnetic fields.

Fee: $85
