Overcoming obstacles, forging paths between unlikely plateaus, and bringing communities together — bridges have a history that is infused with science and culture. This week you will learn about the history of these structures in Connecticut and explore the engineering behind them. You’ll construct models of important CT bridges and create functioning movable designs.
Stepping beyond history, become the next architects in a long tradition of CT ingenuity. Study the engineering behind truss bridges and glue lamination techniques before applying your skills to a life-size project. Form your own CT bridge company with fellow campers to design, prototype, and construct your signature footbridge. Family and friends are invited to see the finished bridges at 2:30 pm on Friday!
