2016 Summer Program
May 31st, 1916, midway through WWI, the fleets of Great Britain and Germany collided in one of history's largest and most complicated naval battles. A decade long arms race had produced super dreadnoughts, the Castles of Steel that met on that day that ended without a victor.
Construct an English or German Battleship heavily armed but not invincible. Construct the inventions new to that moment – submarines, seaplanes, zeppelins, and radio. Rehearse the tactics worked out for that moment. Then reenact the events that unfolded on that day – broken codes, deceptions, miscommunications, missed opportunities, fog, and unwise choices that complicated two empires' best-laid plans.
Batteries included: wired remote control
