"Modding" is a word heard often in gaming and an art understood by few. It is the process of taking a game and creatively re-programming it to your own ends. Learn to 'mod' with Blockly, Google's Scratch-like "logic block" system that makes programming accessible to beginning game designers.
In this class students will learn to use basic coding principles using Learn to Mod, a powerful code-based resource that allows student to create their own Minecraft Mods. With this, they will learn to write code that will let them spawn thousands of animals and creatures to roam the land, build a massive fortress, or create a mighty weapon that will instill fear in your opponents online.
Students will later be able to to use the Mods that they've created in a final battle towards the end of the 6 week class.
This is a course for students who have already worked with Blockly or Scratch.
Students must also have their own Minecraft accounts set up before the class begins. These accounts can be created and purchased at https://minecraft.net/store/minecraft.
