Just over 450 years old today (Feb. 15th), Galileo Galilei is the father of experimental building. He argued that nature wants to be observed and tested.
Celebrate Galileo with some classic experiments that explore the mechanics of momentum. Construct a caroms arcade to test collisions. Assemble and test an artful yoyo. Then build Neal Downie's clever Rotopult that will launch cork disks impressive distances (harmlessly.) Momentum's intricate laws reveal themselves to eager hands.
