The first plan of East Rock Park shows a Nursery Ground across our bridge and just below the land that the Museum occupies.
Parks are created. Early parks set aside land to cultivate young shrubs and trees that could be transplanted to complete the Park's plan. Parks developed plans for sustainability long before we returned to that sensible value.
Hillary Perrone is working on the Musem's plan for sustainability. In this workshop, help enrich soil with organic supplements, plant seeds collected in Connecticut for food and flowers, prepare common sense and clever protections for the young plants to avoid the need for pesticides.
Make a Fandex of the tools of sustainability. Build your own micro-greenhouse and planter to practice smart growing at home.
